  • This is a NORMAL week of practices

  • AM Senior Group: College of Saint Benedict
  • AM Senior Elite and National Team: Apollo High School
  • PM Senior+ Practice: Apollo High School
  • On Fridays Senior + level athletes have practice at Apollo (NO CSB practice)
  • This Friday our LCM Practice is open to Senior Level Athletes only. You need to register and complete a liability waiver (if you did not complete one already week one)
  • New athletes to our summer season (did not participate in Spring) should have received a new team cap this past week, if they have not yet, encourage your athlete to talk to the head coach of their practice levels: Coach Annika for Shark Groups, Coach Mack for Senior level groups.
  • Please make sure you update (or Register if you have not done so) your athlete’s USA Team Registration. Our Team Link can be found here: https://omr.usaswimming.org/omr/welcome/C5FDCDF50CA449

Reviewing Summer Weather Related Protocols:

  • Severe Weather Safety Guidelines: In the event of severe weather during practice athletes will be removed from the water and head into the locker rooms to take shelter until the threat has passed. Parents are allowed to take their athletes with them if they deem that to be the safer option.
  • Facility Specific Guidelines:
  • Apollo & SMS are both closed indoor facilities that allow us to practice through light-moderate thunderstorms. However should the thunderstorm turn heavy and/or severe we will remove athletes from the water.
  • CSB is an open indoor facility requiring us to remove athletes from the water in the event of lightning.
  • Radar will be used to determine the approximate end time of the storm. If it looks like the storm will end prior to the end of practice, athletes will do dryland activities until it is safe to return to the water. If it looks like it may persist until past the end of our regularly scheduled practice times, it is at the coach’s discretion for how to proceed. In ALL scenarios parents are allowed to remove their athletes from practice if they deem appropriate at the time.
  • Air Quality for outdoor practices: CMA reserves the right to cancel any outdoor practices should staff deem the Air Quality Index be at an unsafe rate for our athletes. We will be unable to refund practice rates due to an AQI cancellation as the team is still responsible for the pool rent regardless of our usage status of the pool.

Meets / Events Updates:

  • Meet Deadlines Re-Opening:
  • SFST (Sioux Falls, SD) - CLOSES 6/10 at 11:59 pm
  • BAC (Bloomington, MN) - Closes 6/25 at 11:59 pm
  • What does this mean for you? Already met the original deadline? Your athlete’s entries have been sent in and are protected. Missed the first deadline? Register! But you’ll only get in if the host team determines there is still space in the meet for our second batch of entries. New entries are not a guarantee but are trying to give as many competition opportunities as we can for our athletes. Acceptance/rejection of second batch registrations will be communicated shortly after those second deadlines pass.
  • MN Regional Championships are posted and open for registration
  • All State Meets are posted and open for registration
  • We may also be adding a Friday evening meet in July (10th) geared towards our newer athletes. This will be a one session, Friday evening novice championship meet at an indoor SCY pool (same size pool we practice in). However this is not a “for sure” yet.

A look ahead:

  • On Fridays we will have LCM practice available for athletes. Each Friday will be open to specific training groups to give our athletes opportunities to train long course during the LCM Championship season. Which groups are eligible is noted in the registration for the week as well as in the weekly update.
  • On Friday, July 3rd we will host a team lake swim at Warner Lake! This event is open to River Sharks, Quarry Sharks, Apex Predators, and All Senior Level practice groups. Registration will be posted as we get closer to July.

Please reach out with any questions throughout the season - Email is the easiest way to reach out.
